On Earth Day, Stitch Fix rolled out a social campaign across Instagram and TikTok, promoting a “closet cleanout.” The content encouraged customers to send in their pre-loved clothing using ThredUp Clean Out Kits in order to earn Stitch Fix credit. The messaging focused on reducing fashion waste, and making space for fresh styles.

Campaign In Action

To extend the momentum into Mother’s Day, Stitch Fix featured a banner on their Trade-In landing page.

This limited-time incentive not only created urgency, but also drove participation by offering added value for taking part in a sustainable initiative.

Stitch Fix’s Earth Month and Mother’s Day Clean Out Kit campaign is a strong example of a strategic, purpose-driven initiative that resonates on both brand and behavioral levels. By aligning cultural moments with a clear incentive and a sustainability mission, Stitch Fix not only saw significant lifts in engagement and cleanout activity, but also delivered measurable environmental benefits.

This campaign showcases the power of combining strategic timing, integrated messaging, and social responsibility to drive results.
